You don’t have to spend a bundle to experience Sun Valley, the birthplace of skiing in north America. You can ski and stay at an incredible price with the Mid-Week Madness Special. http://www.sunvalley.com/sunvalley/Info/promotions/sp.promo.midweek.aspx

For just $105 per person based on double occupancy, or $175 single occupancy, you get one night’s lodging for two and a one day lift ticket for each person.

Sun Valley introduced North America to alpine skiing with its creation in 1936 and to this day sets the standard for world-class mountain resorts. The legendary mountain where the chair lift was invented and the world’s first ski school started is affordable too.

Mid Week Madness is incentive enough to make a pilgrimage to Sun Valley this winter. You’ll find a mountain with 3,400 feet of sustained, impeccably maintained vertical. Jack Sibbach, Sun Valley’s Director of Sales, Marketing and P.R. says that with the abundance of high speed lifts, constant pitch and lack of lines, it’s not uncommon to rack up 50,000 feet of vertical in a day.

There’s even more to Sun Valley that no other mountain in the country can offer. It’s innovative Lift Exchange Program lets destination skiers who buy a multi-day lift ticket exhange a day of skiing for another activity.

“If the weather’s not good or you overdo it on the first day, you can exchange skiing for another activity,” Sibbach said. “There are 10 or 11 different things you can do instead—massagae, dinner and a movie, sleigh ride—either way you’ll get your money’s worth.”

Last season hundreds of guests took advantage of the Lift Exhange. Sibbach said that some people came on five-day packages and did different things every day without skiing.
