RESORT SPOTLIGHT - BRUNDAGE MOUNTAIN

Brundage Mountain Ski Area is celebrating 46 years as one of Idaho’s premiere ski and snowboard areas.

This winter, there is even more of Brundage Mountain for visitors to enjoy. Two new chairlifts will be ready to roll at season’s opening, whisking powder lovers up the south side of the mountain for the first time ever. The new Lakeview Bowl encompasses 160 acres overlooking spectacular Payette Lake.

Conditions are usually outstanding, which is why Brundage Mountain has earned the reputation for the Best Snow in Idaho™. It's no secret that the snow is deep and the lift lines are usually short. The mountain gets frequent storms, so skiers and boarders can cruise on freshly groomed runs or search for powder stashes in the trees and bowls.

For beginners, Brundage is one of the best mountains in Idaho to learn on—the drive-up daycare and Kid’s Center makes it easy to get the whole family where they need to go. The new Bear Chair triple provides easy access to beginner and advanced beginner terrain close to the Kid’s Center.

A majority of the groomed runs are rated for intermediates, but experts who like to head off-trail have endless options. Shoot over to the extreme skiers right side of the hill to Hidden Valley (follow the expert only signs) and go big. For the real powder hounds, try the backcountry snow-cat program which operates on 19,000 acres of Payette National Forest. Splurge on an overnight trip and enjoy an experience you’re not likely to forget.

Visit Brundage and you’ll pick up on that authentic Idaho feeling. Just eight miles away, the town of McCall will impress you with its friendly, low-key vibe. For a great steak dinner, try The Mill. Traditional lodging options include the Hunt Lodge, a brand new AmericInn and the Hotel McCall, a quaint old hotel with unique character.

To truly embrace the mountain lifestyle with a stay in a private cabin or chalet, contact http://www.inidaho.com/ for a variety of packages that offer a third night of lodging and third day of skiing for free with the purchase of the first two days. Midweek, Brundage Mountain is offering a special deal with one night’s lodging and two days of lift tickets for two people for under $165. Full details available at www.brundage.com/lodging.aspx.

With the best snow in Idaho, a family atmosphere, affordable prices, friendly people, and an uncrowded powder experience, Brundage is a true snowrider’s mountain.
